Project Size: 8,800 square feet

Project Scope: This project was comprised of an extremely challenging removal and installation of a new Siplast SBS modified gravel roof system. The extensive amount of mechanical equipment and projections on this roof made the overall process quite challenging.  The project consisted of 8,800 sq. ft. and involved the complete removal of all existing roofing down to the wood deck structure. The wood deck was in such poor condition we had to install new ¾” plywood over the entire wood deck area in addition to the 1,150 board feet of deteriorated deck lumber that was replaced. We then installed a new roof system comprised of new insulation mechanically attached to the roof and a new 2 ply SBS cold applied roof membrane system.

The difficulty of effectively flashing the extensive number of penetrations and keeping them watertight and included in the 20 year roof system warranty involved the use of a liquid PMMA resin roof flashing system. This flashing system involves proper surface preparation in order to meet the manufacturer’s strict requirements in order to qualify for the total system warranty.

After the flashing of all penetrations was completed we installed gravel surfacing to the roof which not only provides protection from foot traffic but also contributes to meeting UL fire ratings required by local building code.
